They are quite often the first and last person that members of the public see on entering and leaving your store, so it is absolutely vital that every SSS Officer maintains a very high standard of appearance, which is expected throughout our company.”
Highly trained in retail security – and highly visible – our uniformed officers provide full security cover wherever it’s needed. Not just in identifying and observing known or potential shoplifters and vandals but also for cash escorts, staff searches and warehouse delivery checks.
Our personnel are fully trained in all types of radio interlink systems, security tagging devices and undercover surveillance. Providing a visual deterrent, First Aid, store emergencies, suspicious customer behaviour and monitor store entrances and exit points are a few of the many duties that our Security Officers are assigned to.
Job Duties Can Include:
- 1 Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
- 2 Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.
- 3 Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations.
- 4 Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
- 5 Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions.
- 6 Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
- 7 Provide assistance to people in need.
- 8 Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities.
- 9 Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.
- 10 Checking the bags of customers who have set off an alarm when leaving the store.
- 11 Meeting and greeting customers who come to the store.
- 12 Informing violators of policy and procedures.
- 13 Liaising with the police and law enforcement authorities.
