We can Supervises tasks from vehicular, pedestrian and construction traffic control operations to road, bridge and highway heavy construction projects. We are responsible for implementing and overseeing traffic control operations, lane closures, road closures, setting signs and devices, in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations. We may operate a variety of vehicles, hand tools and power tools. May clean sites, and remove waste materials. Will work near traffic and interact regularly with the public.

Job Duties Can Include:

  • 1 Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follow safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices; safely controlling vehicular, pedestrian and construction traffic movements in a work area; duties may vary according to job assignment.
  • 2 Operate pickups and flatbed trucks and miscellaneous hand tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; conduct routine equipment maintenance and daily equipment inspections according to standards.
  • 3 Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
  • 4 Material handling and storage.
  • 5 Load and unload trucks and haul and lift materials.
  • 6 Ensure that tasks are completed in accordance with all applicable company, local, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • 7 Direct the actions of motoring and pedestrian traffic for their safety and the safety of the work crew .
  • 8 Monitor and notify responsible party(s) of potentially hazardous conditions relating to motorists or pedestrians, that need to be corrected.
  • 9Oversee other agencies working within city boundaries to ensure protection of city facilities; monitor road closures to maintain traffic control and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
